(If it does not, then start the license wizard manually, as described in step b below.).
If you have just finished installing SPSS, the license wizard should launch automatically following the SPSS installation. Launch the SPSS License Authorization Wizard, as follows:. If licensing does fail, please see Licensing Failure below. 
Ensure that you have a wired Internet connection (one that uses an Ethernet cable), as licensing may fail with a wireless connection. To license SPSS using this code, use the SPSS License Authorization Wizard, as described below: This code is emailed to your VCU address when you perform the steps at Download/Renew-Register. When you installed SPSS, you read and agreed to the terms of the license.Ī 20-character authorization code is required. This licensing authorization process will attach an individual license to your computer’s installed copy of SPSS. SPSS licensing must be completed after the installation of SPSS software and again annually for license renewal (licenses expire each year in June). The software should then be activated.License Authorization Wizard License or renew license You should then enter this code in to the licence authorization wizard screen that asks you to enter the licence code. Click on the licence code to generate the full text of the code, which the administrator then needs to give to you. This then generates the full licence code. One the administrator has the lock code for your machine they should enter this into the license key centre screen and click activate. Note that if you are running a concurrent licence then you will need to run the file ‘echoid’ on the command line from the concurrent licence manager installation in order to get the lock code. Click ‘next’ and you should see the lock code, as per the screen shot below. You can get your lock code by opening the licence activation wizard (installed on your machine at the same time as you installed the software). 
The lock code is a unique identification number linked to a particular machine. This will take you to a page that asks for the lock code, as per the screenshot below. It is still possible to install your software in this situation – simply follow the instructions below.įirst, the license key administrator should go to the page where the authorization code is generated (see the example below) and click on the authorization code.
